Gibson Collectors Choice #13 Spoonful Burst

Ā£9,995.00
sold out

šŸÆ 59’ Spoonful Burst Les Paul šŸÆ

We’ve been very excited to post this one so here it is …

This is a Gibson Collectors Choice tribute to the 1959 Les Paul that once belonged to John Sebastian of the ā€˜Lovin Spoonful’ šŸŽ¶ Now owned by record producer Gordon Kennedy in Nashville. This guitar is No. 115/300

The Sunburst Les Paul that once belonged to John Sebastian, is a really wonderful guitar. One of the things that makes this guitar so nice is the history associated with it. When you think about the use it had with John Sebastian, and the continued use it gets with Gordon, makes it amazing. The top has some very, very minimal figure only at certain angles, but overall, the neck feel, the top carving, the sound and playability demonstrate what exactly it was that made these guitars so iconic. Ultimately, for all guitars it comes down to the sound and feel, or ā€œvibeā€, of the guitar. The top overall has its fair share of lacquer checking, as does the back and the rest of the guitar, with some distinctive wear on the neck and the top developing cracks in the maple between the bridge volume and tone controls, indicating it has been a working instrument for so many years.

John Sebastian of The Lovin’ Spoonful made history with this one. From hits like ā€œDo You Believe in Magic?ā€ and ā€œNashville Catsā€, to the theme song from TV’s Welcome Back Kotter to movie appearances throughout John’s amazing career, this was his one and only. Both Gordon Kennedy, the current owner, and John Sebastian have worked with Gibson Custom to create a memorable collateral package including a tie-dye dust cover and a hand-written note about the guitar’s history.

As well as a tri-fold Collectors Choice certificate it also comes with a copy of a hand written letter from John Sebastian detailing the guitar’s history and a tie dye dust cover (covers the guitar inside the case)ā€.

The value of this guitar is only going one way you guys so be quick to snatch this one up!
